Please read Osama bin Laden’s article as to why he attacked the US. We all need to cease oversimplifying the true reasons why this terrible tragedy happened. Bin Laden tells us in a very informative and articulate manner. He explains why he feels that it is justified to target civilians, he records the US’s injustices to his people, and he prescribes the way for his brand of terrorism to stop.

We should listen carefully and reflect on the “outsider’s” perception of the US. I am NOT saying that we should use this article as a panacea for terrorism–far from it. I am saying that we need to understand that US policies, as well intentioned as they are, sometimes hurt people and appear hypocritical. Let’s try to make the world a better place and energize the intelligence and determination of the bin Ladens of the world to make it a better, more peaceful, and more tolerant place.
